Project: to reimagine Times Square using a specific theme or concept to inspire you.
I was inspired by the ornate interior and exterior decoration of the Palace of Versailles. I specifically used the doors inside the palace as inspiration for my reimagined version of Times Square with an underlying focus on the ‘sun king’ theme and a restricted color palette of blue and gold.
I was very inspired by how America is a very new country compared to Europe. The buildings near where i used to live in England are hundreds of years old whereas America is such a a new country in relative.I thought it would be interesting to imagine Times Square as built in this baroque style historical style, especially since Times Square represents everything new and modern about the city.
