"Create a wearable object that literally or figuratively augments your human sense perception and/or possibility of responding that is inspired by a non-human.
For the focus of this class, prioritize form, materiality, structure and construction over actual functionality of the object"

Moodboard looking at the sense of touch as it relates to horses and humans
Moodboard looking at specific concepts and areas of the body
Selection of concept and development sketches.

My concept for this object/garment I was tasked with creating, was essentially to create an ergonomically designed glove inspired by the bond and connection between horses and humans.

Details : Hand sewn, synthetic/faux leather, surface pattern design to add to aesthetic and meaning

Final outcome documentation.
The longer I spent on this project and the more I obsessed with the images and notions that sparked its creation, the more I wanted to distort my original ‘glove’ idea and focus on the process and conceptualization.
This disjointed, deconstructed leather ‘jewelry’ represents my grit and resilience regarding both my equestrian career and my journey throughout my first semester at Parsons.
Art and design is subjective. To me, this piece is everything i want it to be, anf the more i followed my own aesthetic concepts the more it started to represent me in a more authentic way which in my opinion is what design is really about.
